Dinghy Beach: A Scenic Cove with Easy Access to Crescent Beach

About Dinghy Beach

Located on the edge of Great Salt Pond, Dinghy Beach—also known as Mosquito Beach—is a quiet, sandy cove offering the most convenient route for boaters moored in New Harbor to reach Crescent Beach. Boaters can tie up their dinghies at the fixed dock and cross Corn Neck Road to reach Scotch Beach on the opposite side. If you prefer to stay on the pond side, there’s a small stretch of sand for beachcombing with serene views of the pond.

The stunning backdrop of Great Salt Pond makes Dinghy Beach a popular spot for photography, especially at sunrise and sunset. For those arriving by land, there’s a small parking area available on the west side of Corn Neck Road, providing easy access to this peaceful cove. Whether you’re arriving by boat or car, Dinghy Beach is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Block Island.
