West Beach may not be ideal for swimming or sunbathing due to its rocky shoreline, but its seclusion and breathtaking sunsets make it a must-visit for those seeking a peaceful escape on Block Island. As the sun dips into the water, this beach transforms into one of the most gorgeous sunset spots on the island.
For adventurers, a walk north along West Beach will lead you to the charming North Lighthouse, passing through a serene stretch perfect for searching for glass floats and sea glass. To reach West Beach, drive about 3.5 miles down Corn Neck Road and look for signs directing you to the Transfer Station. Follow the dirt road all the way to the end, where you’ll find a small parking area. Keep in mind, mopeds are not allowed on the dirt road, so plan accordingly.
