Named after Captain Darius B. Dodge, a 19th-century druggist who once made and sold medical elixirs on the property, The Darius Inn is a beautifully renovated inn located in the heart of Old Harbor. This iconic Block Island property has undergone several transformations throughout its history, previously known as the Switchboard House, Wayside Inn, and Gables 2 Inn. In the spring of 2013, sisters Christy and Becca from Philadelphia lovingly renovated the building, bringing new life to this beloved island inn.
Today, The Darius Inn offers 11 beautifully appointed accommodations, with five pet-friendly suites and apartments on the first floor and six guest rooms with private bathrooms on the second floor. The third floor features a large penthouse suite for those seeking a more luxurious stay. Located just a short walk from the Block Island Ferry and steps from the beach, The Darius Inn is one of the most convenient and welcoming places to stay on Block Island.
Each stay includes a variety of thoughtful amenities like happy hour, beach chairs and towels, Wi-Fi, TV, and grill access. Guests can also enjoy ocean views, private porches, air conditioning, and a delectable hot breakfast. Whether you’re traveling with pets, family, or looking for a romantic getaway, The Darius Inn offers everything you need for a memorable island experience.
