With its wide-open stretches of white sand and volleyball nets always set up, Scotch Beach is the go-to spot for families on Block Island. Known for its lively atmosphere, this beach is perfect for those who want to “see and be seen.” The larger waves and minimal rocks make it an ideal place for body surfing and boogie boarding, adding to the beach’s active, social vibe.
Located just a quarter mile north of Fred Benson Town Beach, Scotch Beach is an easy walk to nearby facilities. You can find it about two miles up Corn Neck Road, with a parking area clearly marked by a “Scotch Beach” sign. Beach access is indicated by gray posts that read “beach access.” Boaters can also dock at nearby Dinghy Beach and walk across Corn Neck Road to enjoy the action at Scotch Beach.
